It is no secret that I am obsessed with skincare - or as my best friend Aimee’s boyfriend Charlie call it “lotions and potions.” While I’ve always gotten regular facials I never really had a true routine that I did everyday. I actually used to think I had very oily skin - turns out I actually had very dry skin. Once I realized that I needed extra moisturizing and got over my fear of oils, things changed drastically for me! Also getting engaged last March I realized I needed to step up my game - STAT!
So my new daily ritual was born! Below I’ve rounded up my full routine and a few of my favorite products.
What are your favorite products? I’m always looking for new things to try :)
I’ll be sharing my nighttime routine too soon!

My Morning Skincare Routine
Step 1: Cleanse
Favorite Products: Tatcha Camellia Oil Cleanser & Tata Harper Refreshing Cleanser
I love both of these cleaners - I personally prefer to oil cleanse at night and then use the Tata Harper in the morning (something about the smell - it just helps wake me up!). Oil cleansing can take a little getting used to, but this Tatcha Camellia Oil Cleanser is honestly the best one I’ve tried - it makes your face feel clean without drying it out. It also can remove any and all makeup!
Honorable mention: Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser
I do like this cleanser a lot, but just not as much as the other two. Clean ingredients, preforms well, good price point - you cant go wrong here either!
Step 2: Tone
Favorite Products: Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner , Caudalie Beauty Elixer , & Shiseido Facial Cotton
Okay first off - let me just say that the Shiseido facial cotton has CHANGED MY LIFE. I know that spending $12 on a pack of cotton rounds that you can buy at CVS for $2 seems silly - but you have no idea how harsh and scratchy those things are until you try these! My husband uses them too to apply his after shave toner - and gone are those little scraggly cotton bits from the CVS brand cotton rounds. Seriously - if you take anything away from this post, BUY THESE!
Love both of these toners - I find myself alternating between them because I cant decide which I love more!
Step 3: Eye Cream
Favorite Product: Origins GinZing™ Refreshing Eye Cream
I’ve tried a few other brands of eye creams who claim to “de puff” but this is by far and away eye cream I’ve ever used! Honestly I can put it on after staying up too late having too many martini’s and it looks like I got 12 hours of sleep!
Step 4: Serum:
Favorite Products: SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic & Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum
Okay - I take back what I said about the facial cotton - if you buy anything based on this post YOU MUST GET THE SKINCEUTICALS CE FERULIC. It seriously changed my skin - it is pricey but a little goes along way! I am still using the same one that I purchased in April! It has changed the texture and look of my skin. It’s a rock star product!
For the winter months in Boston this Caudalie serum has been an absolute godsend. It is light and hydrating - on very cold days I actually do it after my SkinCeuticals and before my oil. I use one pump when I’m going to put on an oil afterwards - two pumps if not.
Step 5: Oils
Favorite Products: Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil & Drunk Elephant Marula Luxury Facial Oil
As I said above, I thought growing up that I had super oily skin - so I was terrified of using any sort of facial oil. However as it turned out I had very dry skin and when your skin is too dry it over produces oil (hence why I thought I was an oil monster). I’ve been using Jurlique products for most of my life (they discontinued my favorite face wash - I’m still not over it) and their balancing face oil is the best “starter” oil. It is moisturizing but light as a feather! I use this all year round.
The Drunk Elephant Marula Oil has luxury in the name for a reason - it is amazing! BUT it is heavy, so I only break it out during winter months or if my skin is feeling really dry (or wind burnt). I love to use it after skiing when your skin just needs a ton of moisture to bring it back to life!
Step 6: Moisturizer
Favorite Product: Glossier Priming Moisturizer
Oh Glossier - what did we do before you? I’ve tried many a different priming moisturizer trying to find one that I like more than Glossier’s and I can’t find one! It is truly a magical product - plus that price point cannot be beat! It does a really nice job of locking in all of the serums and oil that are part of my routine.
Step 7: SPF
Favorite Product: EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46
Ladies (and gents!) sun screen is SO important - not just on days when you’ll be outside. EVERY DAMN DAY! This one is great - hearty enough to stand up to a round of golf or a morning on the beach - but also light enough to wear everyday.
